Future of PMetrics, oPenMetrics

For all of you who were fans and users of the Performancing Metrics WordPress plugin, I'm sorry that it's no longer available. In November 2006, the folks at Performancing decided to discontinue their incredible website/blog metrics system, Performancing Metrics (PMetrics for short). As sad as the news was, I don't hold any grudges, especially the way I kind of disappeared in the last few months of active PMetrics service.

With the news that PMetrics will be open-sourced, I've created a new site, oPenMetrics.net. Currently, it will be a place to compare and review analytics systems with fellow users. I've asked Nick Wilson for permission to take over control of a hosted PMetrics solution and re-brand it at oPenMetrics. Once it is released, I'd like oPenMetrics to remain open-source and community-driven.

Eventually I'd like to develop another WordPress plugin/Drupal module that will enable easy integration with oPenMetrics and many other popular metrics systems, like Google Analytics, Mint, Feedburner Standard Stats, etc.

If anyone else has valuable feedback, please comment below.

Update: I've abandoned oPenMetrics.net. Not enough time and everyone should use Google Analytics instead.
